"Paris to Jamaica: Nadia & The Ligerians on Reggae Cruise"
Set sail on a wave of reggae magic as Nadia McAnuff and The Ligerians beam their vibes from Paris straight to the decks of Homebrew Stew’s Reggae Cruise, hosted by the ever-groovy Lexi and Rich. Their story began in 2020 when The Ligerians, enchanted by Nadia's offbeat artistic world and mystical energy, connected with her to craft something truly unique. Nadia, the daughter of legendary roots artist Winston McAnuff, was already vibing with The Ligerians’ soulful tracks and their label, Soul Nurse Records. Together, they embarked on a cross-continental collaboration, blending the rhythmic pulse of Jamaica with the melodic heartbeat of France.
Their first single, "Lockdown," dropped in 2021 and resonated worldwide, capturing the shared experience of the pandemic. But the magic didn’t stop there—Nadia and The Ligerians have since brewed up an EP that takes listeners on a journey through soulful one-drops, stepper styles, and powerful messages. "Order," a standout track, highlights Nadia's personal struggle against discrimination as a Rastafarian woman and her powerful response to such oppression. With the smooth meditative reggae backing of The Ligerians and Nadia's ethereal vocals, this EP is a testament to the unity and strength that music can bring, transcending borders and creating something timeless.
